The Sacraments are the lifeblood of the Church. "The liturgical life of the Church revolves around the sacraments, with Eucharist as the center. The sacraments are signs of grace, instituted by Christ and given to the Church, by which divine life is given to us and celebrated. The Church celebrates seven sacraments: Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony." National Directory for Catechesis, US Conference of Catholic Bishops, 2005

Sacraments of Initiation

RCIC - Sacraments of Initiation for Older Children - This program is for older children who have not yet completed or received sacraments of initiation. Registration is required and participation in class is required. RCIC Calendar

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults - The RCIA is that process that welcomes adults wanting to investigate the Life of the Catholic Church. It includes those who have never been baptized, those who have come to us from other Christian faith traditions, and those baptized Catholics who desire to prepare for Eucharist and Confirmation.

Adult Confirmation - The Adult Confirmation program assists persons 19 years of age and older to prepare for the affirmation and commitment to the faith asked of a fully alive adult Catholic member of the Church. The program runs from late August until Confirmation in November with other parishes from the Archdiocese. Recruiting takes place in July and August. Candidates must be able to provide official certificates of Baptism and First Communion. Candidates are to choose a sponsor who can attend all classes and someone who is a practicing Catholic (attends Mass weekly and has no impediments to receiving the sacraments) and who meets all other Canon Law and Archdiocese of Santa Fe requirements. Candidates are to complete an initial interview with the Director prior to the beginning of the first class.
